taking care of your candle helps ensure quality and longevity. it’s best to follow these steps:
— on your first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge of the vessel.
— with every consecutive burn, trim your wick to 1/4” before lighting. (never leave your wick trimmings in the vessel!)
— when you’ve reached the last 1/4” of wax, it’s time to clean out the jar and reuse in whichever way your heart desires.
safety first:
— never leave a candle burning unattended, or in reach of pets and/or children.
— do not burn your candle for longer than 4 hours.
— always burn your candle on a heat resistant surface.

cashmere:
top notes:
— aloe: refreshing and bright. also known as the “plant of immortality” as it can grow and thrive in desolate conditions.
— palm: green and watery. palm symbolizes victory, peace, and resurrection.
— powder: soft and clean. dusting powders were used in the early twentieth century to absorb odor. the scent of powder became associated with freshness.
middle notes:
— lavender: fresh and herbaceous. bees and butterflies love lavender just like we do.
— sugar: sweet and slightly powdery. sugarcane is grown all over the world.
— vanilla: rich and comforting. vanilla is the only edible fruit of the orchid family, the largest family of flowering plants.
— ylang ylang: floral, sweet, and warm. ylang ylang is a tropical tree native to the philippines, where it is crowned the “flower of flowers”.
base notes:
— amber: spicy and aromatic. amber is made from fossilized tree resin (think: the mosquito in jurassic park).
— musk: animalic and skin-like. musk adds depth to fragrances. historically, animal-derived musk was used in fragrance. croatian-swiss chemist professor leopold ruzicka was the first to synthesize musk molecules, making it possible to make musk fragrances without animals.
— sandalwood: a rich wood with soft and creamy accents. sandalwood is one of the most ancient fragrance ingredients still used today; the earliest records of sandalwood date back to 500 BCE.
